Jan-June 2010-I’ve been taking advantage of the lovely landscape in this part of the world. I’ve also been finishing up many paintings that I’ve not had the time to finish in the past. There is a great art studio in Tucson that has open figure drawing 5 days a week. It’s a long drive but I make it as much as possible. I also been spending a lot of time doing research for a book that I’m writing. I’m hoping that it will be very useful for other artist and I haven’t seen anything like it on the selves. More information about the book a little later. |

Nov 2009-Moved to Nogales, Mexico Very different landscape than what I’m used to back in the east. I’m going to have to buy more browns and reds, and put away my greens.

March-Nov 2009 We were in Washington D.C. for Marcy to do some training for her new job with the State Dept as a Foreign Service Officer. Good new is, I was able to receive some training myself, 8 months of Spanish language training. Bad news is I was not able to do a lot of art work while there. The language training was 5 days a week, 6-7 hours a day. I was able to finish a mural for my parents that I’ve been promising to do for a while. After Spanish I had a few weeks to do a little artwork. I only managed to get out for some plein-aire painting once but it was a good one. I think I might develop it into a finished painting later. |
